Hello, Wisconsin. I’ve missed you!
I think my airplane was a time machine - the same music from when I left CO in 1989 is everywhere on the radio.
And I’m off to the beautiful Rockies for family time… Some knitting, too.

I’m happy to get up a little early to knit a few rows in the morning, some days I’m too tired to even think about knitting at the end of the day.

TNNA - Recovering & Recap
It’s been a little over 2 weeks since I returned from TNNA. If you don’t know what TNNA is, this is *the*event where the folks in the fiber industry meet up once a year for a huge trade show in Columbus, Ohio - basically equal parts of awesome & exhaustion.
TNNA’s 2012 Summer Trade Show was a ton of fun. I’ve posted on the Firefly Fibers blog, but I wanted to share...
Joey’s whining for supper. I told him to let me finish this row, he sighed. Even the dog knows this is a long row.
Sometimes you just have to put your head down and plow through what feels like miles of stockinette - in the end, it will be worth it.
Good progress on Wispy and a shop sample on the way to the 4th of July parade, now to do the same on the way home.
I wish I could play Lego Harry Potter and knit at the same time. Tough choices!

I already respected her, but I have a new level of respect for @LNelkin and her kit making ability.
Thank for a lovely time Columbus and TNNA - we’re going home to Wisconsin now to sleep for a week.
I’m with @KnittingSarah in the #TNNA market and we are drooling!!!
Just crossed into Indiana!
On the road to #TNNA with @KnittingSarah!
Time to power sleep so I can get up before the sun tomorrow and road trip to #TNNA with @KnittingSarah.
For a lady that relies on 2 sticks and string for a living, I sure need a lot of techie devices to assist me.

Sitting down with the spinning wheel and some musical inspiration from Daniel and the Lion. Ahhhh…
Favorite knitting quote of tonight’s knit night, “Knitting in the front and back is my favorite knitting move.” - by Jennifer
Sometimes I feel like kid on Christmas Eve waiting for Santa when I know there is a big yarn delivery coming via UPS…

It’s time to put the needles down and slowly back away… “One more row” has quickly turned into “one more repeat” and the eyelids are protesting.
Morning knitting resulted in half a hat brim, let’s see if the eve will be as fruitful. *fingers crossed*

I’m down to 2 WIPs, what do I cast on to fill the void and empty project bags?!
Coffee and cookie delivery from hubby while I work the last portion of the next Firefly KAL. Great way to start Sunday!
Yes, I just told my pups they had to wait to go outside because I had to finish my row.
Every day should start with a few rows of knitting.
Oh dear, I need my project notes interpreted for me -I’m shaking my fist at myself right now.
A successful trip to the office supply store is one that inspires creativity - leaving with fun goodies doesn’t hurt either.
Finally knitting for the first time in 3 days - I’m working on the next Knitalong, it’s gorgeous and I can’t wait to share in a few weeks!
Might need to learn Japanese to interpret pattern notes for fabulous mods on a potential project. Maybe I should sleep on this?

The Yarn Whisperer: Clara Parkes
I had the pleasure of attending the February Madison Knitter’s Guild meeting where Clara Parkes was the guest speaker. You may be familiar with Clara’s blog Knitter’s Review or one of her fabulous books in The Knitter’s Book of… series (we carry all 3 books here at Firefly Fibers). Her most recent book is The Knitter’s Book of Socks in which she thoroughly covers the fundamentals of creating the...
